Serena van der Woodsen was born to Lillian van der Woodsen, an heiress socialite. Lily is married to Rufus Humphrey, father of Dan and Jenny Humphrey. Serena used to rule the Upper East Side while best friend, Blair Waldorf, was also pretty but less appealing than the gorgeous It girl.
